Donald Marinkovich

DONALD P. MARINKOVICH has more than forty years of trial experience in both state and federal courts. During that time he has earned the respect of vessel owners, maritime employers, insurers brokers, adjusters, and his opponents. While he actively engages maritime litigation himself, he is often asked by his peers to serve as a mediator in such cases.

A director with LeGros, Buchanan & Paul since 1991, Don has tried a broad range of jury and non-jury cases involving litigation of maritime and non-maritime matters such as products liability, insurance coverage, personal injury and death, professional liability, discrimination and harassment, automobile accidents, maritime contracts, indemnity claims, and various other litigation matters.

Born in Cathlamet, Washington, Don completed his undergraduate education at the University of Washington in 1954. After completing a portion of his legal studies at the University of Washington Law School, he entered the military, serving in the United States Army. Following completion of his military obligations and his honorable discharge, he returned to the University of Washington and completed his legal studies in 1959, earning a Bachelor of Law and Letters. Don enjoys golf, and has been a member of the Seattle Golf Club since 1974.

Following his graduation from law school in 1959, Don was admitted to the Washington State Bar. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of Phi Delta Phi, the Maritime Law Association of the United States and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
