Merrilee HarrellMERRILEE HARRELL joined the firm in 2016. She has represented employers and carriers in workers' compensation matters since 2001, with a particular emphasis on Medicare Secondary Payer issues, including CMS review of workers’ compensation settlements, conditional payment recovery, and "Section 111" Mandatory Insurer Reporting. Merrilee is also involved in the firm’s maritime litigation, personal injury defense and employment law practice.
Merrilee obtained her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law (2001), where she was editor of Alaska Supreme Court News (2001), and Washington Supreme Court News (2000), for the school’s case summary notification service, Willamette Law Online. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Alaska, Anchorage (magna cum laude), and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Washington. Merrilee served on the Board of Trustees for the Washington Bar Association’s Administrative Law Section (2008 - 2014), where she was editor of the Section’s eNewsletter.
Merrilee is admitted to practice law in Alaska (2001) and Washington (2007). In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling and reading.
