Carey Gephart
CAREY GEPHART joined LeGros Buchanan & Paul as an associate in January 2006, and is engaged in various aspects of both the litigation and transactional components of the Firm’s practice areas.Carey received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota (1999). During college, Carey worked as a technical aide at the 3M facility in Woodbury, Minnesota. Following receipt of her undergraduate degrees, she worked as a formulation chemist for one year. Thereafter, Carey pursued a J.D. at Drake University School of Law in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2003, Carey received her J.D. with highest honors. During law school, she served as a Note Editor for The Drake Law Review, was the recipient of the faculty-awarded H.G. Cartwright Award for the best published student note in The Drake Law Review for that year, and received various awards for academic excellence. After her J.D. was conferred, Carey was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
Following her graduation from law school and prior to joining the Firm, Carey clerked for two years with the Honorable Mark W. Bennett, Chief Judge, of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
Carey is admitted to practice in Iowa State (2003) and Washington State (2005), and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Iowa State Bar Association.
